Site News and Upcoming Special Event

Yeah, it’s been more than a week since I had a chance to work on this site. There are photos and products waiting to be uploaded and detailed (jewelry, and Music From Angel Fire posters). What’s the delay? I’ve been in the studio painting! I registered for the Angel Fire Holiday Market and it is just two weeks from today! EGAD! So far I have 16 new pieces, most of them smaller than 16 x 20. I’m painting small to keep prices low and the works accessible. Let’s see, I’ll have 5 or more small (5 x 7 and 6 x 6) works in scratchbord (daisies and roses). In acrylic on cradled panel I’ll have hopefully 10 or more ( have 6 done so far). Sunflowers and something else (I haven’t figured that out yet). The sizes are 6 x 6, 8 x 8, 10 x 10 and 12 x 12. I also have a few larger framed acrylic on canvas and watercolor on paper (also framed). So, you can see, I’ve been busy. I’m taking a break this morning so I don’t get so far behind that I have relearn how to use these tools!

Here is a sneak peak. If you see something that really strikes you, I’ll pre-sell it but other wise it’s headed for Holiday Market. The event is Saturday, December 15 9 am – 6 pm and Sunday from 10am – 3pm at the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort, in the “Garden Court” on the second floor.

Yes, I’m still getting used to not having the physical gallery to go to most every day, but it seems I’m busier than I’ve been in a long time. Here is some great news….I’ll continue to have Music From Angel Fire posters! Wahoo! And while I have many in stock even right now, they will take some time to get online here. It’s more than logistics, though that is a piece of it. It’s photos and identifying and uploading and …..you get the idea. In the meantime, if there’s a poster you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll find it for you if it’s to be found. I recently sold two: one I had in stock and one took a round about trip to an artists studio to get his signature on the poster. Lesson: I’ll do everything I can to get it done. And with much gratitude for those who step up when I call for help! 🙂 (Thanks, Lee! :))

And I’m working on an operational chat window for help functional on this site. It’s installed now, but I’m working out the glitches, like sometimes it doesn’t tell me when some has clicked for the chat! woops! It will all get sorted out soon, I’ve no doubt, but since I’m mostly doing this myself, it’s quite an education!

In the mean time, I’m working on the first group of jewelry to come online, some really beautiful jewelry by Barbara Shewnack. Some know her work by the name of Catspaw Jewelry. I hope to have that up by the first part of next week. so stay tuned.

So, test away if you wish, and help me out be letting me know what works and what doesn’t. It’s weird when I test and it works for me, but then I have someone else test and it doesn’t. hmmmm. Figuring it out.

We’re here and growing daily! :)

You may have stopped by and seen the “This site is under construction” sign. Well, it is, but it is finally “presentable” and that said, a great big “THANK YOU” is due my sweet husband. I’m an artist. I know how I wanted it to look and function but how on earth to get there in a complete re-do of the website. Answer….pass the laptop to John. 🙂

So, for now, we have the following artists online here, with work available for sale: Me (Katherine McDermott, Artist), L. Martin Pavletich, Deborah Flood and new to the Gallery…let me introduce Cathy McAnally Lubke. Cathy was actually one of the most influential people in my artist past. I took her watercolor class in 1996, in Eagle Nest, NM and essentially never stopped painting. I’d been drawing all my life, but Cathy introduced me to watercolor and I fell in love!

Also on board right now is Roy Brown (ceramics/pottery), though his page is not quite ready to publish. And coming soon, will be some fantastic unique and beautiful jewelry by Barbara Shewnack (Catspaw Jewelry). Then there will be more, like Jennifer Cavan (Oil Pastel and Oils) and Pamela Kirk (Jewelry) and Nancy Angulo (sculpture and paintings). Whew!

For now, it’s back to the studio. In the midst of all this technical work, I must paint! 🙂
